Scheduling Goals
We understand that most of our patients have obligations during the day, usually involving work or school. When orthodontic treatment begins, you will see us every 4-8 weeks, and some of these appointments will inevitably conflict with work or school schedules. Our goal is to minimize these inconveniences as much as possible. In order to achieve this goal, we have established the following scheduling guidelines:

"Adjustment" Appointments
During these brief appointments we will make technical adjustments to your braces. Most of our patients schedule these appointments at various times during the day. Even though these appointments will occasionally occur during work or school hours, they are necessary, and we are happy to provide you with a written excuse slip to avoid an unexcused absence from work or school.

Longer Appointments
We generally attempt to schedule longer appointments in the morning and early afternoon. Appointments such as placing and removing braces, are scheduled during school hours to provide the best possible care

Late Arrivals And Rescheduled Appointments
While every appointment is vital to the success of your treatment, we understand that certain circumstances may cause you to change or overlook an appointment. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please call us as soon as possible to reschedule. We will offer you the first available appointment at your convenience.

Each procedure takes a specified period of time and late arrivals affect our schedule. Please call our office if you know you are going to be late as we may not be able to complete the scheduled work and we will need to make appropriate arrangements.

How To Keep Your Treatment On Schedule
• Keep regular appointments
• Maintain good oral hygiene
• Be careful with what you eat
• Try not to break the appliances
• Wear rubber bands or headgear as directed
• Follow through with recommended treatment and referrals

We provide our patients with the courtesy of a friendly phone call the day before their scheduled appointment. This automated reminder system will allow you to confirm, leave a message or cancel your appointment. It will even leave a message on your answering machine if you are not at home.
